The editors of the California Journal of Literary Horror invite you to entertain horror, revel in it, and join the community of fellow horror enthusiasts. It is our mission to establish horror as more than blood and monsters. We aim to give horror literature a scholarly space, glancing back, but always walking forward. Through book reviews, interviews, and commentaries, we will explore contemporary horror across genres, viewing horror—the shock, wonder, and betrayal it includes—in a different light.
Thank you for joining us. We welcome comments and questions, and hope you enjoy the dark in little doses.
